How to delete your account

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

1. Open Lima on your device.
2. Tap the settings icon in the top-left corner of the home screen.
3. Scroll to the bottom of Settings.
4. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Your account is deactivated immediately after confirmation. Permanent deletion of all data happens automatically 30 days later.

Option 2 — Send an email

Email hello@getlima.app with the subject"Account deletion request" and the email address linked to your Lima account. We process requests within 7 business days.

What happens after you request deletion

Immediately

• Your account is deactivated.
• You can no longer log in.
• Your profile is hidden from other users.

Within 30 days — reversible

If you change your mind, log in to Lima before the 30 days are up. Logging in reactivates your account and cancels the deletion. All your data is still intact.

After 30 days — permanent

All data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems:

• Tasks, habits, focus sessions, journal entries and notes
• Financial records (transactions, budgets, savings goals, recurring bills)
• Community posts, comments and reactions
• AI chat history
• Profile photo and bio
• WhatsApp link (phone number)
• Push notification tokens (mobile and web)
• Google Calendar and Tasks integration tokens
• Analytics data associated with your account

After 30 days, deletion cannot be undone.

Export your data before deleting

You can download a copy of all your personal data at any time before deleting your account (data portability under LGPD Art. 18 V / GDPR Art. 20).

In Lima, go to Settings (top-left icon) → Export my data. You will receive a JSON file with everything: tasks, habits, journal entries, financial records, AI conversations, community posts and more. Exports are rate-limited to once per hour.

Deleting specific data without closing your account

Lima does not currently offer module-level deletion (for example, deleting only your financial history while keeping the account active). Account deletion removes all data tied to your account.
